Question:

The length of a cuboid is 8 cm. If the breadth of the cuboid is twice of its length and height of the cuboid is half of its length, then what is the total surface area of the cuboid?

Options:

448 cm2

216 cm2

188 cm2

154 cm2

Correct Answer:

448 cm2

Explanation:

We know that,

Total surface area = 2{(length × breadth) + (breadth × height) + (height × length)}

We have,

Length of cuboid is 8 cm.

Breadth of the cuboid = twice of its length.

Height of the cuboid = half of its length

So,

Length = 8 cm

Breadth = 2 × 8 = 16 cm

Height = \(\frac{8}{2}\) = 4 cm

Total surface area = 2{(8 × 16) + (16 × 4) + (4 × 8)}

= 2 × (128 + 64 + 32) = 448 cm2
