A person invested a total of ₹9,000 in three parts at 3%, 4% and 6% per annum on simple interest. At the end of a year, he received equal interest in all the three cases. The amount invested at 6% is:

Options:

₹2, 000

₹3, 000

₹4, 000

₹5, 000

Correct Answer:

₹2, 000

Explanation:

We know ,

Simple Interest = \(\frac{Principal ×Rate × Time }{100}\)

Let amount invested be A , B & C respectively.

\(\frac{A×3 × 1 }{100}\) = \(\frac{B ×4 × 1 }{100}\) = \(\frac{C ×6 × 1 }{100}\)

3A = 4B = 6C

Ratio of amount invested are in ratio ,

A : B : C = 4 : 3 : 2

ATQ,

( 4 + 3 + 2 )R = 9000

9R = 9000

1R = 1000

Amount invested at 6% = 2R = 2 × 1000 = Rs. 2000
