Question:

If \(\frac{1}{x}\) ∶ \(\frac{1}{y}\) ∶ \(\frac{1}{z}\) = 4 : 3 : 5, then x : y : z = ?

Options:

15 : 20 : 12

12 : 20 : 15

12 : 15 : 20

2 : 3 : 8

Correct Answer:

15 : 20 : 12

Explanation:

\(\frac{1}{x}\) ∶ \(\frac{1}{y}\) ∶ \(\frac{1}{z}\) = 4 : 3 : 5

⇒ x : y : z = \(\frac{1}{4}\) ∶ \(\frac{1}{3}\) ∶ \(\frac{1}{5}\)

⇒ x : y : z = \(\frac{60}{4}\) ∶ \(\frac{60}{3}\) ∶ \(\frac{60}{5}\)

(Multiplying with LCM)

⇒ x : y : z =  15 : 20 : 12
