Question:

If the base of a right pyramid is triangle of sides 5 cm, 12 cm, 13 cm and its volume is 660cm³, then its height will be?

Options:

25 cm

66 cm

22 cm

55 cm

Correct Answer:

66 cm

Explanation:

The base of the pyramid is a right angle triangle because 5, 12, 13 form triplet

Area of base triangle = \(\frac{1}{2}\) × base × height

                        = \(\frac{1}{2}\) × 12 × 5 = 30 cm2

volume of pyramid  = \(\frac{1}{3}\) × area of base × height of pyramid

⇒ 660 = \(\frac{1}{3}\) 30 × H

⇒ height (H) = 66 cm
