Explanation:

The land revenue arrangements of the Mughals consisted of two stages – first, assessment and then actual collection. The jama was the amount assessed, as opposed to hasil, the amount collected.

During the reign of Akbar, the 'Amil-guzar was the revenue collector. Akbar decreed that while he should strive to make cultivators pay in cash, the option of payment in kind was also to be kept open.

Mansabdari system- The name of the Mughal administrative system which had a military-cum-bureaucratic apparatus. The Mansabdar was responsible for looking after the civil and military affairs of the state.
