Question:

A bag contains Rs 410 in the form of Rs 5, Rs 2, and Rs 1 coins. The number of coins is in the ratio 4 : 6 : 9. So, find the number of 2 Rupees coins.

Options:

40

50

60

70

Correct Answer:

60

Explanation:

The ratio of the value of a single coin (Rs.5 : Rs.2 : Rs.1) = 5: 2: 1

The ratio of number of coins (Rs.5 : Rs.2 : Rs.1) = 4: 6: 9

The ratio of the value of all the coins (Rs.5 : Rs.2 : Rs.1) = 20: 12: 9

[*Value = no. of coin × value of single coin]

According to the question,

20x + 12x + 9x = 410

41x = 410

x = 10

Therefore,

Total number of 2rs. coins = 6x = 60
