Distance of a chord RS from the centres is 20 cm, if the length of this chord is 30 cm, then what will be the diameter of this circle? |
45 cm 55 cm 60 cm 50 cm |
50 cm |
Half of the chord length = \(\frac{30}{2}\) = 15 cm Distance of the chord from the center = 20 cm According tot the formula, Length of the radius = \(\sqrt { { 20}^{2 } \;+\;{ 15}^{2 } }\) = 25 cm Now, the length of the diameter = 25 x 2 = 50 cm Therefore, the diameter of the circle will be 50 cm. |
