Distance of a chord RS from the centres is 20 cm, if the length of this chord is 30 cm, then what will be the diameter of this circle?

50 cm

Half of the chord length = \(\frac{30}{2}\) = 15 cm

Distance of the chord from the center = 20 cm

According tot the formula,

Length of the radius = \(\sqrt { { 20}^{2 } \;+\;{ 15}^{2 } }\) = 25 cm

Now, the length of the diameter = 25 x 2 = 50 cm

Therefore, the diameter of the circle will be 50 cm.
