Question:

If cos x = $\frac{3}{5}$, then find the value of sin x - sin3 x.

Options:

0.476

0.389

0.358

0.288

Correct Answer:

0.288

Explanation:

cosx =  \(\frac{3 }{5}\)

{ cosx =  \(\frac{B }{H}\) }

P² + B² = H²

P² + 3² = 5²

P = 4

Now,

sinx - sin³x

=  \(\frac{4 }{5}\) -  (\(\frac{4 }{5}\))³

=   \(\frac{4 }{5}\) -  \(\frac{64 }{125}\)

=\(\frac{100 - 64  }{125}\)

=\(\frac{36 }{125}\)

= 0.288
