A jar 'A', containing 180 ltrs milk was mixed with 20 ltrs of water. Some of this mixture was taken out from jar 'A' and put in jar 'B'. If before doing this, there was 8 ltrs of milk in jar 'B', and afterwards the resultant ratio between milk and water in jar 'B' was 7:3 respectively, then what was the amount of mixture that was taken out from jar 'A'? |

In jar A⇒ Milk : Water = 180 : 20 = 9 : 1 In jar B ⇒ Milk = 8 ltrs. ATQ, after mixing A and B ⇒ \(\frac{9R + 8}{1R}\) = \(\frac{7}{3}\) ⇒ 27R + 24 = 7R ⇒ 20R = 24 R = \(\frac{24}{20}\) = \(\frac{6}{5}\) Mixture taken out from jar A = 9R + 1R = 10R = 10 × \(\frac{6}{5}\) = 12 ltrs. |
