Question:

Two sides of a triangle are 12.8 m and 9.6 m. If the height of the triangle is 12 m. corresponding to 9.6 m, then what is its height (in m) corresponding to 12.8 m?

Options:

12

9

10

8

Correct Answer:

9

Explanation:

We know that,

Area of right angled triangle = \(\frac{1}{2}\) × Base × Height

Given that,

Two sides of a triangle = 12.8 m and 9.6 m

Let the height of the corresponding side 12.8 m = h

\(\frac{1}{2}\) × 9.6 × 12 = \(\frac{1}{2}\) × 12.8 × h

= \(\frac{1}{12.8}\) × (9.6 × 12)  = h

= h = 9 m
