The length and the breadth of a rectangular cardboard are 40 cm and 35 cm, respectively. If the biggest possible square is cut out from this cardboard, what is the area of the remaining pan of the cardboard? |
175 cm2 275 cm2 425 cm2 325 cm2 |
175 cm2 |
We know that, Area of a square = (Side)2 Area of a rectangle = Length × Breadth We have, Length = 40 cm Breadth = 35 cm Area of the cardboard = 40 × 35 = 1400 cm2 Because the breadth = 35 cm So, the maximum measure of each side of the square = 35 cm The area of the square = 352 = 1225 cm2 Now, the area of the remaining part = 1400 - 1225 = 175 cm2 |
