A-III, B-I, C-IV, D-II

A-II, B-I, C-IV, D-III

A-IV, B-II, C-III, D-I

Correct Answer:

A-III, B-IV, C-I, D-II

Explanation:

The correct answer is Option (1) -A-III, B-IV, C-I, D-II

List I List II
A. Tubectomy III. Surgical method of sterilisation in human female
B. Copper ions IV. Suppress motility of sperms
C. Cervical Cap I. Barrier method
D. Vasectomy II. Surgical method of sterilisation in human male

A.Surgical interventions can be employed to block gamete transport and effectively prevent conception. In males, this sterilization procedure is known as "vasectomy," while in females, it is referred to as "tubectomy."

During a tubectomy (also known as tubal ligation), a small portion of the fallopian tube is either removed or tied off to block the pathway for eggs to travel from the ovaries to the uterus.

B.Intra Uterine Devices are presently available as the non-medicated IUDs (e.g., Lippes loop), copper releasing IUDs (CuT, Cu7, Multiload 375) and the hormone releasing IUDs (Progestasert, LNG-20) . IUDs increase phagocytosis of sperms within the uterus and the Cu ions released suppress sperm motility and the fertilising capacity of sperms.

C. Diaphragms, cervical caps and vaults are also barriers made of rubber that are inserted into the female reproductive tract to cover the cervix during coitus. They prevent conception by blocking the entry of sperms through the
cervix. They are reusable.

D.Surgical interventions can be employed to block gamete transport and effectively prevent conception. In males, this sterilization procedure is known as "vasectomy," while in females, it is referred to as "tubectomy."

During a vasectomy, a small section of the vas deferens (the tube that carries sperm from the testes) is either removed or tied off. This procedure is typically performed through a small incision made in the scrotum.
