Question:

Manoj decided to give 25% of his income to his son A and a certain amount to his son B. If he gave ₹2,208 to B which is 92% of the decided amount and is ₹1,542 less than the amount given to A, then what percent of his total income did Manoj decide to give his son B?

Options:

16%

12%

15%

20%

Correct Answer:

16%

Explanation:

92% of amount of B = 2208

Total amount of B = \(\frac{2208}{92}\) × 100 = 2400

Amount of A = 2208 + 1542 = 3750

According to question ,

25% of Manoj income = 3750

Total of Manoj income = 3750 × 4 = 15000

Percentage of Amount given to B = \(\frac{2400}{15000}\) × 100

= 16%
