Two trains start at same time from stations A and B, 1800 km apart, and proceed towards each other at an average speed of 44 km/h and 46 km/h, respectively. Where will the trains meet?

Options:

920 km from station A

900 km from station B

880 km from station A

Correct Answer:

880 km from station A

Explanation:

Relative speed ( when both the trains moves towards each other ) = 44 + 46 = 90 km/h

Time = \(\frac{Distance }{Speed}\)

= \(\frac{1800 }{90 }\)

= 20 hours

When the trains meet , Distance traveled by A

= 44 × 20

= 880 km

Ans :-  880 km from station A
