Correct Answer:

Mandavya Kumara

Explanation:

The correct answer is Option 2 - Mandavya Kumara

The following is a story from the Matanga Jataka, a Pali text, where the Bodhisatta (the Buddha in a previous birth) is identified as a chandala.

Once, the Bodhisatta was born as the son of a chandala outside the city of Banaras and was named Matanga. During a visit to the city, he encountered Dittha Mangalika, the merchant's daughter, who considered him inauspicious and had him beaten up. In response, Matanga lay at her father's house in protest. After seven days, the girl was given to him in marriage, and they returned to the chandala settlement. Later, he renounced the world, attained spiritual powers, and married Dittha Mangalika.

They had a son named Mandavya Kumara, who learned the Vedas and provided food to 16,000 Brahmanas daily. One day, dressed in rags and carrying a clay alms bowl, Matanga went to his son's house seeking alms. Mandavya refused, calling him an outcaste, and ordered his servants to throw him out. In response, Matanga disappeared into the air. Upon learning about the incident, Dittha Mangalika followed Matanga, seeking his forgiveness. He asked her to take a bit of the leftover from his bowl and give it to Mandavya and the Brahmanas.
