$\frac{1}{v}-\frac{1}{12}=\frac{1}{18}⇒\frac{1}{v}=\frac{1}{18}+\frac{1}{12}$

$⇒\frac{1}{v}=\frac{30}{12\times 18}⇒v=7.2 \,cm$
