Question:

If cosec θ - cot θ = \(\frac{1}{\sqrt {11 }}\), then value of cosec θ is?

Options:

\(\frac{17}{\sqrt {22 }}\)

\(\frac{15}{\sqrt {11 }}\)

\(\frac{12}{2\sqrt {11 }}\)

\(\frac{12}{\sqrt {11 }}\)

Correct Answer:

\(\frac{12}{2\sqrt {11 }}\)

Explanation:

cosec θ - cot θ = \(\frac{1}{\sqrt {11 }}\)  ............(i)

then cosec θ + cot θ = \(\sqrt {11}\)

adding the equation

2 cosec θ = \(\sqrt {11 }\) + \(\frac{1}{\sqrt {11 }}\)

⇒ 2cosec θ = \(\frac{12}{\sqrt {11 }}\)

cosec θ = \(\frac{12}{2\sqrt {11 }}\)
