The table given below shows the cost price and profit percentage of 5 articles.

 Article   Cost Price   Profit
P 450 90%
Q 250 100%
R 600 60%
S 730 70%
T 400 80%

Total selling of article P and Q is what percent of total selling price of article R, S and T ?

Options:

36.26 percent

49.27 percent

35.87 percent

46.38 percent

Correct Answer:

46.38 percent

Explanation:

Total sale of P & Q = ( 450 + 450 × \(\frac{9}{10}\) )  + ( 250 + 250 × 1 )

= ( 450 + 405 ) + ( 500 ) = 1355

Total sale of R , S & T = ( 600 + 600 × \(\frac{3}{5}\) ) + ( 730 + 730× \(\frac{7}{10}\) ) + ( 400 +  400 × \(\frac{4}{5}\) )

= ( 600 + 360 ) + ( 730 + 511 ) + ( 400 + 320 )

= 2921

Required percentage = \(\frac{1355}{2921}\) × 100 = 46.38%
