- The five types of forests(based on annual rainfall) found in India are- 

1. Tropical Evergreen Forests

2. Tropical Deciduous Forests 

3. Thorn Forests

4. Montane Forests

5. mangrove Forests

- Out of these, Tropical Deciduous Forests are the most widespread forests in India. They are generally found in in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Orissa and parts of Maharastra.
