Question:

A says, "if you reverse my own age, the figures represent my brother's age.  He is, of course, senior to me and the difference between our ages is one - eleventh of the sum of our age."  Then A's brother's age is?

Options:

45 years

54 years

25 years

52 years

Correct Answer:

54 years

Explanation:

Check by answer option (2) → 54

A'a age = 45 years

A's bother age = 54 years

Difference of their age = 54 - 45 = 9 years .... (i)

Sum of their age = 54 + 45 = 99

ATQ,

⇒ Difference of their age = 99 × \(\frac{1}{11}\) = 9 years .... (ii)

(i) and (ii) are same. Hence, 54 years is age of A's brother.
