Question:

If $sec(90°-\frac{3\theta}{2}) = \sqrt{2}, 0° < θ <90°, $ then the value of 2 sin θ +4 cos 2θ will be :

Options:

4

2

3

6

Correct Answer:

3

Explanation:

sec ( 90º - \(\frac{3θ}{2}\) ) = √2

{ we know, sec 45º = √2  }

So, 90º - \(\frac{3θ}{2}\)  = 45º

\(\frac{3θ}{2}\)  = 45º

θ = 30º

Now,

2 sinθ + 4 cos 2θ

= 2 × sin30º + 4 × cos 60º

= 2 × \(\frac{1}{2}\) + 4 × \(\frac{1}{2}\)

= 1 + 2

= 3
