Question:

A man loses 12\(\frac{1}{2}\)% of his money and after spending 70% of the remainder, he is left with Rs. 210. How much money had he at first?

Options:

₹ 1500

₹ 500

₹ 1000

₹ 800

Correct Answer:

₹ 800

Explanation:

We know that 12\(\frac{1}{2}\)% = \(\frac{1}{8}\)

 & 70% = \(\frac{7}{10}\)

If loses 12\(\frac{1}{2}\)% then remaining = \(\frac{7}{8}\)

If spending 70% then remaining = \(\frac{3}{10}\)

Let initial amount = Rs. x

ATQ,

x × \(\frac{7}{8}\) × \(\frac{3}{10}\) = 210

x = 800
