Question:

The profit made by selling an article for ₹13,400 is equal to the amount of loss incurred on selling the same article at ₹11,600. What will be the profit (in ₹) if it is sold for ₹14,750?

Options:

2,000

2,520

2,500

2,250

Correct Answer:

2,250

Explanation:

First selling price = 13,400

Second selling price = 11600

The cost price = \(\frac{First\;  selling \; price + Second \;  selling \; price}{2}\) = \(\frac{13,400 + 11600}{2}\) = 12500

The new selling price = 14,750

Profit = 14,750 - 12500 = 2,250
