Question:

Simplify the following equation. What is the difference between the two values of X?

 7x +4 {x2 ÷ (5x ÷ 10)} - 3 $\begin{Bmatrix}5\frac{1}{3} -x^3 ÷(3x^2 ÷ x)\end{Bmatrix} = 0 $

Options:

8

16

5

17

Correct Answer:

17

Explanation:

 7x +4 {x2 ÷ (5x ÷ 10)} - 3 $\begin{Bmatrix}5\frac{1}{3} -x^3 ÷(3x^2 ÷ x)\end{Bmatrix} = 0 $

= 7x + 4{x2 × (2 ÷ x)} - 3 {$\frac{16}{3} -x^2 ÷ 3 $} = 0

= 15x - 16 + x2

On solving this above equation,

x = -16

x = +1

So the difference between these values is = 1 - ( -16) = 17
